Margie (Williams) Tennin

Born and raised in IL, January 28, 1957.  Margie is the fifth child of nineteen brothers and sisters.  This
fragile, timid and shy child soon understood what the lack of passion was, which paved the way for her
path in life.  She grew up in a singing family, her mother was a singer, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and
cousins were all singers.  At the age of five she was a member of a family group called the Williamettes'
which was comprise of three of her older siblings and at the ages of eight to twelve her Godfather merged
three families together, taught them songs, poetry and had them singing at the local colleges as well as on
television.  Her favorite artists were Al Green, Aretha Franklyn, The Temptation, and Anita Baker, in her
mind they sang from the inside out.  A local housing complex provided a stag from the living room window
of a friends house where her and a couple of her friends would entertain whom ever would listen while
using as their microphones a hairbrush,  a TV antenna and the chain from a ceiling light.  Even after
realizing her talent, she did not sing as a soloist until she was 24 years old.  A step that would later gave
way to many opportunities such as weddings, funeral, banquets and a host of other engagements, but her
passion was not just in singing it was in entertaining and giving a positive message.  You give her an idea
and she would make it come alive.

Margie has written and directed plays such as “Get Right Church and Let’s Go Home and “This is your
Life” for the St Luke Missionary Baptist Church and several poems.  Her first poem was “I Left the Light
Burning for you” and her Favorite poems that she has written are I felt Gods Present and Chance to
Believe.

Experiences are opportunities for you to share your life and the lessons that they present are merely tools
for you to assist others.

Chance to Believe
To open your heart to receive Even though the chances are great you will be deceived to forget for one
moment you could loose, think first before you take the chance then choose.  You know what you want and
you believe you must take a chance to achieve Life is full of dreams, opportunities and such.  Take a
chance and receive as much.  The only thing worst then never achieving goal, is not taking a chance to
see what unfolds.  An exhale is a message to your lungs to relieve; a chance is an opportunity to believe.
